Download PAN card 2.0 with QR code for free, know the step by step process

The Indian government has recently introduced an upgraded version of the Permanent Account Number (PAN), known as PAN 2.0. This new version offers better security features and includes a QR code on the PAN card. Although the QR code was first added to the PAN card in 2017-18, many people still have older versions that do not have this feature.

Although the official launch of PAN 2.0 is still a few months away, we wanted to tell you about the process to download the new PAN 1.0 with QR code without any charge. QR codes serve to verify the authenticity of details such as photo, signature, name, parents’ names and date of birth on the PAN card, making it easier to confirm the accuracy of the information.

To get a PAN card with QR code, you will need your PAN number, phone number and email address. You can then apply for PAN 1.0 through NSDL or UTIITSL, where you can choose to get either an ePAN with QR code or a physical PAN card with QR code.

If your PAN was issued last month, you can download e-PAN for free. However, old PAN card holders will have to pay a fee of Rs 8.26 to download e-PAN with QR code. E-PAN will be available in PDF format, while the physical PAN card with QR code will cost Rs 50.

Having a PAN card with a QR code will provide a more secure and user-friendly identification option for PAN cardholders. This initiative of the government aims to increase the reliability of PAN card information and help reduce incidents of fraud.
